Parenting with Prayer—Lifting Up Your Teens Daily
Raising teenagers is both a joy and a challenge. As they grow more independent, it’s easy to feel like we have less control over their choices, influences, and faith journey. But while we can’t always guide their every step, we can pray for them daily, trusting that God’s hand is on their lives.
Why Prayer is Essential in Parenting
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have as parents. It’s a way to surrender our worries to God, seek His wisdom, and invite His protection over our children. Philippians 4:6 reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
How to Pray for Your Teen
Pray for Their Faith – Ask God to strengthen their relationship with Him and to help them stand firm in their beliefs.
Pray for Their Friendships – Surround them with godly influences and protect them from harmful relationships.
Pray for Their Choices – Ask for wisdom and discernment in decision-making, both big and small.
Pray for Their Future – Trust that God has a plan and purpose for their lives.
Pray for Your Own Strength – Parenting teens requires patience, love, and endurance—pray for God’s guidance in your own role.
Trusting God with Their Journey
Letting go is hard, but trusting God with our teenagers brings peace. As we cover them in prayer, we can find confidence in knowing that God loves them even more than we do.
